Q. Do you have a map of DCE's elementary school boundaries.
A. You can view a Google map of DCE elementary boundaries here.

Q. My child is an incoming kindergarten student. How do I find her student ID number if we don't get packets at her preschool?
A. To have a student ID you will need to register the student at your attendance area school for the 2017-18 school year. If you do not know your attendance area school, you can view a Google map of DCE elementary boundaries here or you may call Lamers Bus Lines at 715-298-6110. When you register please ask for a Look out Kindergarten! application. Summer School registration is March 13 - March 24. You may email SummerSchool@dce.k12.wi.us, fax 715-359-2056, send or drop off at the D.C. Everest Administration Building, 6300 Alderson St, Weston, WI 54476 (across the parking lot from the Senior High School).

Q. My child will be attending Adventure Care at the Greenheck Center.  Which school do I register for?
A. If your child is in grades 4-8, register them for the Middle School as would be the case for all students in those grades. If you wish for a bus to pick up your 4K-3rd grade child from your home, register them for Weston if their pickup location is in the Rothschild, Weston, Green Acres or Colonial Gardens neighborhood. If your home is in the Evergreen, Mountain Bay, Riverside or Hatley attendance areas, register them for Mountain Bay. If you are dropping off your child at Adventure Care in the morning and do not need a bus to pick them up from your home, register them for Weston Elementary.

Q. Who should I contact if I am unsure of which neighborhood I live in and want to be sure we have the correct bus and registration materials?
A. Please contact Lamers Bus Lines at 715-298-6110.

Q. My K-3rd grade child attends Evergreen,  Riverside, Mountain Bay or Hatley but we do not live in those attendance areas. Which school should we register for?
A. Your child will receive registration materials based on the school they are currently attending. The bus in your neighborhood will not travel to the building you were given registration materials for. You will either need to drive them to that building or register them for Weston Elementary.

Q. My K-3rd grade child attends Weston or Rothschild Elementary, but we do not live in those attendance areas. Which school should we register for?
A. Your child will receive registration materials based on the school they are currently attending. The bus in your neighborhood will not travel to the building you were given registration materials for. You will either need to drive them to that building or register them for Mountain Bay Elementary.

Q. I am dropping my child off at summer school. What is the earliest I can drop them off?
A. Students should not arrive more than 15 minutes before the start of school.

Q. Is there a program for students who will be starting 4k in the fall? Or is it only for students entering kindergarten in the fall?
A. Sorry, the summer Look out Kindergarten! program is only for students entering kindergarten in the fall. There is not a summer program for students starting K4 in the fall.

Q. If I need to register my K-3rd grade child for a different building, how do I do that?
A. If you are registering online, you can change the school. If you prefer to register on paper, you will need to download a paper registration for that building and email the scanned forms to SummerSchool@dce.k12.wi.us, fax 715-359-2056, send or drop off at the D.C. Everest Administration Building, 6300 Alderson St, Weston, WI 54476 (across the parking lot from the Senior High School), or send it with your child to school. Summer school registration forms for all grade levels are also available in your school office.

Q. Can I have different pick up and drop off locations for busing?
A. Yes, provided that the locations are in the same attendance areas. Contact Lamers Bus Lines at 715-298-6110 if you need assistance.

Q. My K-3rd grade child lives in the Colonial Gardens or Green Acres Neighborhood.  Which school will they attend?

Q. Has the location of summer school changed for the summer of 2017?
A. No, we are running the same buildings as we did during the summer of 2016: Weston and Mountain Bay Elementary for students in 4K-3rd grade and the Middle School for all students in grades 4-8th.

Q. Should my child register for summer school if he/she will miss days due to family vacations, etc.?
A. Yes, your child should still register. We invite all children to register and attend what they are able to.

Q. Are any enrichment math classes offered for students in grades 5, 6, 7 or 8?
A. Sorry, due to lack of interest, we do not offer an enrichment math class at those grade levels.

Q. Do classes run every day of the week?
A. Yes -- classes are held Monday through Friday.

Q. The packet provided suggested we rank our choices 1, 2, 3 etc. The website doesn't allow for that. Should I sign my child up online and return the ranked packet?
A. Ranking is only used if registering on paper.

Q. How can I sign my child up for the Boys & Girls Club program that is being held at the Middle School during summer school?
A. Anyone interested in registering can do so by visiting the Boys & Girls Club website (http://www.bgclub.com/signup.aspx) and printing the application or completing it online by following the link on the website. For details, call 715-845-CLUB.

Q. Will my student's registration be confirmed by the school district?
A. Yes – confirmation letters will be sent home with registered students by May 6.

Q. Can parochial or home-schooled students register online?
A. Sorry, but because D.C. Everest does not have a list of parochial or home-schooled students living in the district, we do not have the ability to provide them with a D.C. Everest student ID number which is needed for online registration.

Q. What grade level do we register our child for?
A. Students should register for the grade they are currently in for the school year. For example if a student is currently in 3rd grade, they would sign up for 3rd grade classes.

Q. If my child is registering for the Environmental Camp should they register for busing?
A. Yes. Students will be bused from the Middle School to and from Environmental Camp each day.

Q. What if my child is in the Challenge Program and is working from an accelerated curriculum?
A. The same would hold true, these students would also sign up for the grade they currently are in, and not the grade-level of their curriculum. These students should sign up for enrichment-level classes which are geared for all students who are at or above grade level regardless of the school they are in.

Q. Can parochial, home-schooled or any other students living in the D.C. Everest School District attend summer school?
A. Absolutely! All students living in the D.C. Everest School District are invited to attend summer school.

Q. I have not yet received a confirmation notice for which bus my child will ride. Who should I contact?
A. Bus confirmation notices and schedules will be mailed to parents by June 2. If it is after June 2, and you have still not received a notice, you should contact Lamers Bus Lines at 715-298-6110.

Q. If the class my child wants is full, can they be placed on a waiting list for the class?
A. Unfortunately we do not maintain waiting lists for any of the classes.

Q. Should I send my class fee in before summer school starts or with my paper registration?
A. No, classroom teachers will collect this fee the first several days of class.

Q. We do not live in the D.C. Everest District. Can my child still attend D.C. Everest Summer School?
A. Please email Gloria Degner at gdegner@dce.k12.wi.us or phone 715-359-4221, ext. 1245 regarding non-resident tuition fees for summer school.

Q. What time should I expect my child to be dropped off the bus from summer school?
A. Please refer to your bus confirmation notice and schedule from Lamers regarding the time your child will be dropped off. Please keep in mind that time will be later the first few days of summer school while students become familiar with which bus they need to ride home.

Q. My child is in the D.C. Everest 4K program at one of the community sites.  How will we receive registration information?
A. Children in the district 4K program will receive registration packets from their 4K community site/building.

Q. Why is a question asked about having my child's photo taken during summer school?
A. Occasionally during the summer program, photos are taken of students engaged in various classroom projects and then those photos are published in district printed materials or on the district website. If you prefer that your child's photo not be taken, please check the box on the paper registration form or in the online registration form.

Q. Will students at Mountain Bay and the Middle School be provided food during the morning?
A. All students at Mountain Bay and the Middle School will be offered a healthy morning snack each day upon arrival provided by Blessings in a Backpack – D.C. Everest.

Q. Is it true that students may register for two enrichment classes and are not required to take a math or reading class?
A. This is correct. If a student has been recommended by their teacher to take a developmental math or reading class for extra help, we encourage parents to sign them up accordingly. We are continuing to offer most of our enrichment math and reading classes to students as they continue to be valuable and engaging. The enrichment classes will have math and reading integrated in with the lessons. This change allows students to be engaged in areas which excite them and use math and reading in applied ways.

Q. How do I reach summer school staff?
A. To reach summer school staff, phone 715-359-4221, ext. 1800 before the start of this year's summer school classes.

Q. Why do students attending Weston Elementary School for summer school get a free breakfast and lunch but students attending Mountain Bay and the Middle school do not?
A. We are pleased to be able to offer the Summer Food Service Program at Weston Elementary this year. This federal program allows sponsors to offer free meals to children at sites that meet certain economic criteria. Any child 18 years and under is eligible to receive free meals at this site regardless of whether they are attending summer school. Serving times will be publicized at a later date. Mountain Bay and D.C. Everest Middle School do not meet the criteria for us to be able to offer free meals at those sites. Parents will be provided a voluntary opt-out letter with their class registration confirmations in May.

Q. How and when do I pay for class fees?
A. Students should bring registration money with them to summer school during the first several days of school. Do not send it in with the paper registrations!

Students on free or reduced lunch will not have to pay any fee. Simply do not bring it.

Make checks payable to: D.C. Everest School District

Q. Can I request to have my child grouped or assigned with their friends?
A. Unfortunately we cannot group friends or siblings into the same requested classes.

Q. I would like to register my child for summer school, but I lost the form with the login information. Is there a way I can get the password to register online?
A. The secretary at your child's school will be able to provide you with the login information.

Q. How do I register my eighth grade student?
A. Eighth grade students can pick up a summer school packet in the school office or get the registration form online. The completed form can be returned to your child's teacher, scanned and emailed to SummerSchool@dce.k12.wi.us or mailed to
Summer School • D.C. Everest School District • 6300 Alderson St • Weston, WI 54476

Q. How do I get a login and password to register online?
A. All D.C. Everest Students (grades K thru 7) should have received a personalized packet from their school approximately March 10. This packet contained their Student ID (login) and password. If your child did not bring the packet home, you can get copies of the registration forms on this website or from your child's school. You can return those paper forms to your child's school, scan and email them to SummerSchool@dce.k12.wi.us or mail them to: Summer School, D.C. Everest School District, 6300 Alderson St, Weston, WI 54476.
